COLOPHON

The awkward questions, answered first.

Who pays

themeaningmotive.org is underwritten by Karl Finance LLP, which covers the domain and incidental costs. Sponsorship buys no influence over Index scores, scenario content, or clause wording, and never will. The site is served from a public repository on infrastructure independent of the sponsor; total running cost is approximately the domain fee. All research artefacts are released CC0; the text of this site is CC BY 4.0.

Who builds it, and with what

The programme is built in sustained collaboration with AI systems – Claude (Anthropic) as drafting collaborator and publishing AI, ChatGPT (OpenAI) as standing reviewer, with others credited in the paper – and the boundary is bright: AI collaborators contribute to artefacts and analysis tooling; scoring runs, scenario secrecy, and release signing are human-operated. A programme built with AI that measures AI answers this question before it is asked, in public, here.

Who decides

One person, for now: Keiron Allen (ORCID 0009-0000-5697-7118), who adjudicates every page, signs every release, and owns every mistake in the corrections log. An advisory board with genuine methodological independence is planned now that the preprint has landed; until it exists, this page will not pretend it does.

Succession

The .org register implies a thing built to outlive its founder. Every release is archived to Zenodo with a DOI, independent of this hosting; the repository is public and its licence permits any successor to continue the work unchanged. If this site ever goes dark, the record does not.
